To protect the hooded plover, the ocean beach track north of Tea Tree Crossing is closed to vehicles from 24 October to 24 December every year. This closure applies to the beach from Tea Tree Crossing to the Murray Mouth.

Granite Island Recreation Park

Access to the north shore will be closed between dawn and 4 pm each day from 3 May to 2 July while construction of the new causeway abutment to the island is carried out.

No access to north shore from dawn to 4pm. No access to fenced construction zone near the kiosk.

Works on the new causeway will be undertaken on Granite Island north shore from 3/5/21 until early July. Access to the toilets and screw-pile jetty during the day is via the walking trail across the center of the island. Once works finish at 4 pm each day, access to the north shore will be re-opened, with the exception of the fenced compound near the kiosk.

Marion Council has reopened 2kms of the Coastal Walkway between Marino and Hallett Cove Conservation Park. A 500 metre section between Kurnabinna and Grey Road gullies, Hallett Cove remains closed. A diversion is in place around the gullies. This section is not in the Hallett Cove Conservation Park, the boardwalk remains open to park visitors.

Advance notice: The car park area at Gate 1, off Scott Creek Road, will be temporarily closed during construction works taking place at the park from the beginning of December 2021 to the end of February 2022. These works include expanding the car park to allow for approximately 20 extra parking spaces, and installing new park entry, trailhead and wayfinding signage.

Nearby, trail and picnic shelter upgrades will be also be underway which may cause some limited disruptions to visitors.

All campsites in Riverland and Murrayland parks have been closed due to recent and forecast rains. It is recommended that visitors do not attempt to travel on roads within the parks as they are unsafe and will be slippery and boggy, especially across floodplains. Sites will reopen on Monday 29 November, weather permitting.
