Deep Creek Conservation Park

As part of the project work for the Wild South Coast Way the Eagle Waterhole Campground is being upgraded. As a result construction work will occur in the campground site.

To manage public safety a temporary campground will be set up 300 meters up the hill from the Eagle Waterhole campground. Construction is expected to begin on the 20 April 2021 and progress through to the 26 July 2021.

Feral Pest Control Work in Flinders Chase National Park and surroundings

From 19 July until 30 September 2021 a feral pest control program will be in place in Flinders Chase National Park surrounding areas.

During these pest control operations Park visitors will be still able to access the most popular visitor sites within the park. Visitors can still access the tarred road corridor from the Flinders Chase National Park entrance gate, through the Rocky River visitor precinct, along Cape du Couedic road and Boxer drive to Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and Rocky river visitor precinct sites will remain open during pest control operations.

Granite Island Recreation Park

Access to the north shore will be closed between dawn and 4 pm each day from 3 May to 2 July while construction of the new causeway abutment to the island is carried out.

No access to north shore from dawn to 4pm. No access to fenced construction zone near the kiosk.

Works on the new causeway will be undertaken on Granite Island north shore from 3/5/21 until early July. Access to the toilets and screw-pile jetty during the day is via the walking trail across the center of the island. Once works finish at 4 pm each day, access to the north shore will be re-opened, with the exception of the fenced compound near the kiosk.

Marion Council has reopened 2kms of the Coastal Walkway between Marino and Hallett Cove Conservation Park. A 500 metre section between Kurnabinna and Grey Road gullies, Hallett Cove remains closed. A diversion is in place around the gullies.

The other bridges crossing Cox Creek are not affected.

There is a high risk of vehicle rollover at deep rutting’s for vehicles, especially for those towing trailers and caravans. We recommend high clearance 4wd vehicles only.
