From 1 July 2026 a 90-day exclusion zone will apply to part of the Upper Spencer Gulf Marine Park between Black Point and Stony Point, including the sanctuary zone. During this time, in-water recreational activities such as swimming, snorkelling and diving, as well as vessel anchoring, are restricted.

Continued rainfalls and cool temperatures over the recent weeks have caused the clay tracks and campsites to become saturated and inaccessible to all vehicles. As a result all campsites and day use areas have been closed until 12pm 10 July, or until conditions improve. Rangers will continue to monitor track and campsite conditions and reopen sites as they dry out.
