Part closure of Mount Remarkable National Park

Mount Remarkable National Park continues its steady recovery after the February 2025 Wilmington fire.
What’s open:
- Key hubs – Alligator Gorge, Mambray Creek, Melrose and Willowie
- Walking – Mount Remarkable Summit Hike, Hidden Gorge Hike, Black Range Trek, Monitor Loop, The Narrows Hike, all re-opened management tracks and the open sections of the Heysen Trail
- Riding – every designated MTB trail, including the 38 km Remarkable Epic Trail and the Willowie singletracks
- Camping – Mambray Creek and Baroota Ruins campgrounds plus most backpack sites; Stony Creek is now available (Longhill and Eaglehawk remain closed)
- Facilities – hot-water showers, flushing toilets and camp kitchen at Mambray Creek; toilets, picnic tables and BBQs at Melrose, Willowie, Mambray Creek and Blue Gum Flat; drinking water at Mambray Creek
Temporary closures
- Northern end of the Alligator Gorge Hike (including The Terraces)
- Longhill and Eaglehawk backpacker campsites
- Ali Lookout Walk and lookout platform
- Alligator Lodge
