  • 28 Mile Crossing campground

    This camp­ground may be accessed by 2WD or 4WD and is set amongst sand dunes that offer some pro­tec­tion. A walk­ing trail leads to the beach.

    There are 5 unpow­ered camp­sites which are suit­able for car­a­vans, camper trail­ers and tents. Park infor­ma­tion locat­ed adja­cent to campground. 

    Facil­i­ties include an acces­si­ble long-drop toilet.

    Camp­fires are not allowed.

  • 3 Mile Bend

    3 Mile Bend Camp­ground is locat­ed approx­i­mate­ly 3 km north­west of Beach­port via the Lake George Road. Sites vary in size, with most being suit­able for small to medi­um sized car­a­vans and are acces­si­ble by 2WD. Each site is nes­tled under paper bark tea-trees, offer­ing good shade and wind pro­tec­tion. The lake is salty and not suit­able for swim­ming, but is home to many types of water birds. The back beach is approx­i­mate­ly 1.5km to the west, along a sandy track.

    Access 2WD (avoid sandy areas).

  • 3 O’clock Creek campground

    The bush camp­ing area at 3 O’Clock Creek offers shady camp­ing spots and water. This bore water is the last place to fill up on drink­ing water before you cross the desert.

    Facil­i­ties: water avail­able from the bore, pic­nic table.
    Camp­fires: not allowed.

  • 42 Mile Crossing campground

    The camp­ground is nor­mal­ly acces­si­ble with 2WD or 4WD and has a large grassed area which is semi-shel­tered by veg­e­ta­tion. A walk­ing trail leads to the beach from the campground.

    There are 30 unpow­ered camp­sites which are not num­bered, allow­ing for group camp­ing. They are suit­able for car­a­vans, camper trail­ers and tents. Facil­i­ties include an acces­si­ble long-drop toi­let, dis­abled park­ing and shel­tered pic­nic area.

    Camp­fires are per­mit­ted in des­ig­nat­ed fire pits — sea­son­al fire restric­tions apply.

  • Acraman campground

    Nes­tled between two moun­tain ranges, this small camp­ground sur­round­ed by native pine trees is a short walk from Bun­yeroo Gorge. The camp­ground has 4 allo­cat­ed camp­sites and is acces­si­ble by high clear­ance 2WD.

  • Alligator Lodge Accommodation

    Alli­ga­tor Lodge is a spa­cious three bed­room self-con­tained lodge set into the hill­side. Lodge includes an inter­nal bath­room with show­er cubi­cle, bath and a sep­a­rate toi­let. Ide­al­ly locat­ed to explore the parks numer­ous bush­walk­ing trails and a short dri­ve to the parks scenic gorges. The lounge rooms floor to ceil­ing win­dows offer sur­round­ing views of the bush and where you can sit back and enjoy the nat­ur­al surroundings.
  • Antechamber Bay Campground

    Locat­ed on the north­ern side of the Chap­man Riv­er, this camp­ground con­sists of camp sites with near­by walk­ing trails pro­vid­ing access to the beach and the riv­er. Var­i­ous sites offer part shade and wind pro­tec­tion. Good safe calm water great for kayak­ing in the Chap­man River. 

    Access: 2WD and 4WD.
    Suit­able for: tents, select­ed sites suit­able for camper trail­ers and caravans.
    Facil­i­ties: Flush toi­let, pic­nic table.
    Camp­fires: sea­son­al fire restric­tions apply.

  • Arcoona Campground (4WD or high clearance 2WD)

    The camp­ground is locat­ed on the west­ern side of the ranges approx­i­mate­ly 1.5 hours dri­ve from Bal­canoona via the Cop­ley-Bal­canoona and Umber­atana Rroads. Camp sites are locat­ed near the end of the track, close to the riv­er red gums and native pines of Arcoona Creek. This camp pro­vides a great base for hik­ers wish­ing to explore Arcoona Bluff and the Gam­mon Plateau.

    Access: 4WD or high clear­ance 2WD.
    Suit­able for: tents and camper trailers.
    Facil­i­ties: nil.

  • Aroona campground

    Locat­ed at the north­ern-most point of the park, this camp­ground is the start­ing point for sev­er­al loop walks. The camp­ground is on the edge of the Aroona Creek between two moun­tain ranges. The Hey­sen Trail runs close to this camp­ground. The camp­ground has 13 allo­cat­ed camp sites and is acces­si­ble by 4WD.

  • Balcanoona Shearers Quarters

    The Shear­ers Quar­ters are locat­ed at Bal­canoona direct­ly oppo­site the Nation­al Parks Office, and keys are obtain­able from the office. 

    The Shear­ers Quar­ters con­sist of a large com­mu­nal kitchen and lounge area in the cen­tre of the build­ing and small­er bed­rooms off the veranda. 

    Each bed­room sleeps up to 2 peo­ple (2 sin­gle beds). A total of 8 sin­gle rooms plus the Man­agers room (Sleeps 3) are avail­able. Fans, light­ing and a pow­er point are avail­able. Each room has Evap­o­ra­tive air-con­di­tion­ing and No heating.

    The com­mu­nal kitchen is equipped with two large fridges and one large chest freez­er, gas stove/​oven, tables and chairs, sink and all crock­ery and cutlery. 

    The com­mu­nal lounge has a com­bus­tion heater (Wood pro­vid­ed), assort­ed lounges, large table and chairs and a TV.

    There are exter­nal show­ers & toi­lets, a laun­dry area with a large wash­ing machine and a large gas BBQ and fire pit.

    Please bring your own linen, blan­kets, pil­lows, tow­els, tea tow­els and matches.
  • Barker Knoll

    This camp­ground is locat­ed on the edge of the Coorong lagoon and only acces­si­ble by boat or canoe.

    There is one unpow­ered camp­site which is suit­able for tents.

    There are no facil­i­ties and camp­fires are not allowed.
  • Baroota Campground

    Locat­ed near the west­ern entrance to the park, this camp­ground has 9 sites that offer var­i­ous lev­els of shade and pro­tec­tion from the wind.

    Access: 2WD and 4WD.
    Suit­able for tents, camper trail­ers with select­ed sites suit­able for caravans.
    Camp­fires: to be con­tained to the fire pit only. fire pits locat­ed with­in all camp­sites (sea­son­al fire restric­tions apply).

  • Beach Camping

    Please note; Coorong Nation­al Park ocean beach con­di­tions are reg­u­lar­ly chang­ing at this time of year due to severe ero­sion and dune col­laps­es asso­ci­at­ed with high tides and sea surges. 
    Dri­ving on the Coorong Nation­al Park ocean beach can be a high risk activ­i­ty under these con­di­tions which could affect your per­son­al safe­ty and could result in dam­age to your vehicle.
    Dri­ving behind and with­in the dunes on non-des­ig­nat­ed tracks is pro­hib­it­ed at all times. 

    When access is pos­si­ble, camp in unal­lo­cat­ed sites between the high and low water marks. You will need a per­mit for each vehicle.
    Access is by 4WD only. Expe­ri­ence in soft sand dri­ving is essential.

    Camp­fires are per­mit­ted on the beach below the high water mark, except on days declared as a total fire ban.

  • Black Springs Campground (4WD)

    Locat­ed beside a remote sandy beach, Black Springs camp­ground is sur­round­ed by mallee and paper bark trees and over­looks Port Dou­glas. There are 8 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access is 4WD only, suit­able for tents and off-road camper trail­ers. Facil­i­ties, long-drop toi­let. Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks, 4WDing, kayaking.
  • Black Springs Overflow (4WD)

    The camp­ing area is set on top of lime­stone cliffs over­look­ing Port Dou­glas with tea-tree and mallee veg­e­ta­tion pro­vid­ing lim­it­ed shade. The area pro­vides over­flow camp­ing for the main Black Springs camp­ground. There is expo­sure to north and east winds. The camp­ground offers unal­lo­cat­ed and unpow­ered camp­ing for 8 vehi­cles. Access 4WD only, suit­able for tents and off-road camper trail­ers. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Black Springs (approx 600m). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks, 4WDing and kayaking.
  • Boat Mooring

    Sleep on your boat or in a tent or swag on the shore 
    on the Coorong Lagoon.

    There are no facil­i­ties and camp­fires are not allowed.
  • Border Cliffs campground

    Access via Paringa.

    Dogs are now per­mit­ted in the Bor­der Cliffs camp­ground, pro­vid­ing it is on a lead not exceed­ing three metres in length, or con­fined in a motor vehi­cle, trail­er or vessel. 

    Bor­der Cliffs Camp­ground is locat­ed 30 km north­east of Paringa, along the banks of the Riv­er Mur­ray. It’s the per­fect base for explor­ing the near­by Bor­der Cliffs Cus­tomers House Wet­land Walk­ing Trail or launch­ing a canoe or kayak. The camp­ground pro­vides areas of part shade and pro­tec­tion from wind on slight­ly slop­ing bare ground. Note, there is no phone recep­tion once down in the campground.

    Access 2WD and 4WD.
    Suit­able for tents only on the riv­er front. Car­a­vans or camper­vans may use the car park area at their camp­site but can­not access the riv­er front.

  • Box Flat Campground

    Acces­si­ble by 4WD only, Box Flat Camp­ground is sit­u­at­ed near an old out­sta­tion of the Gar­ra Pas­toral lease and Box Flat soak­age. The ruins of the old stone build­ing are a short walk from the camp­ing area. Dur­ing win­ter the soak­ages hold water, attract­ing wildlife.

  • Brachina East Campground

    This camp­ground offers two dif­fer­ent camp­ing expe­ri­ences on the banks of Brachi­na Creek and Aroona Creek.

  • Bucks Camp Campground

    Acces­si­ble by 4WD only, vis­i­tors can camp with­in 500 m of a his­toric ruin, a rem­nant of ear­ly Euro­pean set­tle­ment in the area. A per­fect rest stop for those dri­ving the Dukes Highway.

    Access 4WD only.

  • Burke’s Grave Campground

    This camp­ground, locat­ed 11 km north-east of Innam­inc­ka, is the final rest­ing place of Robert O’Hara Burke, of the Burke and Wills expe­di­tion. There is no shade at this campground. 

    Camp­ing fees are per vehi­cle per night.

    Access: 4WD only.
    Suit­able for: tents, camper trail­ers, caravans.
    Facil­i­ties: long-drop toi­lets at Day Vis­i­tor Area

  • Cable Bay Beach campground

    Con­sist­ing of 9 camp­sites over look­ing the pic­turesque views of the off­shore islands. South fac­ing camp­sites offer lim­it­ed wind pro­tec­tion. Ide­al for surf­ing at the Chi­na­man’s surf break.

  • Cambrian Campground

    Between the Hey­sen and ABC Ranges at the north­ern end of the Bun­yeroo Road, this camp­ground is sur­round­ed by native pine trees inter­spersed with riv­er red gums along the creek line.

    Suit­able for: tents, camper trail­ers and caravans.

  • Camping at Bool Lagoon Game Reserve

    Bool Lagoon is one of the largest and most diverse fresh­wa­ter lagoon sys­tems in south­ern Aus­tralia. This sea­son­al wet­land is home to a wide range of wildlife and pro­vides essen­tial drought refuge for many rare and endan­gered bird species. Take a dri­ve to the top of Big Hill to see just how big these wet­lands real­ly are. The board­walk, extend­ing 500 meters over the wet­lands, gives you the feel­ing of walk­ing on water.

    Access 2WD and 4WD.

  • Canopus Quarters

    Locat­ed in Dang­gali Con­ser­va­tion Park. These quar­ters offer spa­cious, self-con­tained accom­mo­da­tion for up to 12 peo­ple. The quar­ters also have a ful­ly equipped recent­ly refur­bished kitchen and din­ing room. Veran­das offer respite from the sun and a place to sit and enjoy the seren­i­ty of the area whilst cook­ing your tea on the BBQ. A fire pit is also avail­able for night time com­fort fires.
  • Cape Banks campground

    Locat­ed approx­i­mate­ly 5km NW from Car­pen­ter Rocks. Acces­si­ble by 2WD and with a small car­a­van. Sit­u­at­ed near the his­tor­i­cal Cape Banks Light­house, there are 6 camp­sites which are rea­son­ably shel­tered from wind with min­i­mal shade. Ocean beach is 100 metres from camp­ing area and is safe for swim­ming when the swell is small. Good fish­ing beach.

  • Carcase Rock

    This camp­ground offers seclu­sion among the coastal mallee and well sep­a­rat­ed camp­sites. Access the beau­ti­ful unspoiled beach from the north­ern end of the camp­ground. The sites are uneven and sandy with some shade and wind pro­tec­tion. There are 3 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access is 4WD only, suit­able for tents and off-road camper trail­ers. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Fish­er­man Point (approx 3.5km). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks, trekking and kayaking.
  • Casuarina campground

    Casua­r­i­na Camp­ground is locat­ed a short walk to the Pon­dalowie Bay beach offer­ing a beau­ti­ful spot to unwind.

    Facil­i­ties: pic­nic shel­ter and tables, gas bbq that can be used every day, includ­ing Total Fire Ban days.

  • Cheetima Campground

    Camp out under the stars on the beach. A won­der­ful fish­ing spot, you can enjoy reel­ing in a mul­loway or Aus­tralian salmon, or sim­ply relax on one of the spec­tac­u­lar sandy beach­es. This beach camp­ground has no shade or pro­tec­tion from the wind and has unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing for up to 5 vehicles.

    Access: 2WD and 4WD.

  • Chillunie Campground Gawler Ranges National Park

    Locat­ed at the base of Mt Fair­field, this camp­ground is only acces­si­ble to 4WD vehi­cles. Be pre­pared to be self-suf­fi­cient, as you will need to take drink­ing water with you. This is an unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing area for nine vehicles.

    Access 4WD only.

  • Chowilla Creekside campsites

    Access via Renmark

    Chow­illa flood­plain pro­vides the per­fect oppor­tu­ni­ty to camp in seclu­sion, relax and dis­con­nect from the out­side world. Try a spot of fish­ing or bring a canoe and qui­et­ly pad­dle the creeks and water­ways watch­ing nature at play. You will need to be self-suf­fi­cient (food and water) as there are no facil­i­ties in this Park. 

    Dogs ARE per­mit­ted with­in this sec­tion of the park and must be kept on a lead at all times.

  • Cleland Cottage

    Sit­u­at­ed in a unique, peace­ful loca­tion in the Cle­land Nation­al Park with stun­ning panoram­ic views through the trees over­look­ing the city of Ade­laide. This rus­tic old cot­tage sleeps up to ten peo­ple in three bed­rooms (two queens and three sets of bunks), mak­ing it per­fect for a group or two fam­i­lies. Locat­ed with­in walk­ing dis­tance to Mount Lofty Sum­mit and Cle­land Wildlife Park, it’s the per­fect fam­i­ly get­away or hik­ers delight. The cot­tage is basic and self-con­tained with crock­ery, cut­lery, cook­ing uten­sils, pots & pans sup­plied. Bring your own sheets, pil­lows, blan­kets and tow­els. Rug up in win­ter and con­sid­er bring­ing a small fan heater — it gets cold.
  • Cobbler Hill Campground

    Camp­site fees are per site per night. Vehi­cle entry fees are waivered in this camp­site fee.

  • Comet Bore Campground

    Sit­u­at­ed just off the Ngarkat High­way, this camp­ground is acces­si­ble to 2WD vehi­cles in dry con­di­tions. Ide­al for larg­er groups and fam­i­lies with kids, there is plen­ty of room to kick the footy or play a game of crick­et. Camp sites are locat­ed amongst whip­stick mallee trees, pro­vid­ing ample shade.

    Access 4WD rec­om­mend­ed or 2WD in dry con­di­tions only.

    Cullya­mur­ra Water­hole is Aus­trali­a’s largest bill­abong and offers shad­ed camp sites, abun­dant birdlife and is a pop­u­lar fish­ing spot. Locat­ed 16 km north-east of Innam­inc­ka, the camp­ground has 15 camp sites spaced along the 7 km waterhole.

  • Dalhousie Springs Campground

    Dal­housie Springs are part of a chain of mound springs extend­ing along the out­er rim of the Great Arte­sian Basin. The arte­sian water ris­es up from a con­sid­er­able depth through cracks and fis­sures in the sub­ter­ranean stra­ta. At the point of exit, the water, which orig­i­nal­ly entered the com­plex sys­tem in the Finke Riv­er area in the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry, is mil­lions of years old. The water in the Dal­housie Main Spring is around 37 degrees, mak­ing it per­fect for a relax­ing soak.

  • Danggali Campground (4WD)

    Enjoy the park’s seren­i­ty at night in one of the self-suf­fi­cient bush camp­ing areas. A true out­back mallee expe­ri­ence only 90 min­utes from Ren­mark. The five camp sites offer par­tial shade and some pro­tec­tion from wind. Lit­tle to no phone cov­er­age so a satel­lite phone is ide­al in emergencies.

    Set into the curve of the Ora­parin­na Creek with a dra­mat­ic cliff-face on the oppo­site side of the riv­er red gum-lined creek. The near­by Per­awurtina Cul­tur­al Her­itage site is pop­u­lar for its Adnya­math­anha rock carv­ings. This camp­ground has shared firepits and lim­it­ed shading.

  • Dogfence Beach Campground

    Camp out under the stars on the beach. A won­der­ful fish­ing spot, you can enjoy reel­ing in a mul­loway or Aus­tralian salmon, or sim­ply relax on one of the spec­tac­u­lar sandy beach­es. Unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ground com­pris­ing of two des­ig­nat­ed camp­sites. Offers beach camp­ing. Flat, sandy ter­rain and min­i­mal shade.

  • Doggers Hut Campground

    Open year-round on the two-way sec­tion of the Bor­der Track, Dog­gers Hut is the last camp site head­ing south along the track before exit­ing the park. Only acces­si­ble by 4WD, this shady camp­ground can accom­mo­date a medi­um-sized group.

    Engine Point camp­ground sits above a shal­low sandy beach with beau­ti­ful views of Boston Bay. There is lit­tle shade and expo­sure to west­er­ly winds. There are sev­en allo­cat­ed camp­sites for unpow­ered camp­ing. Access all weath­er 2WD track for all sites except camp­site 4 which is 4WD access. Suit­able for tents, camper trail­ers and car­a­vans. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Sep­tem­ber Beach (approx 2km). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, each camp­fire has a firepit (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks and trekking.

  • Engineers Lodge - Innes National Park

    The Engi­neers Lodge is locat­ed at Inneston with­in the heart of Innes Nation­al Park. It sleeps up to ten peo­ple in three bed­rooms (two dou­bles and three sets of bunks), mak­ing it per­fect for a larg­er group or two families. 

    The large veran­dah com­mands stun­ning views across Inneston Lake and the rest of the his­toric town­ship and ruins. The lodge is self-con­tained and facil­i­ties include a show­er and toi­let, solar light­ing and gas appli­ances. Bring your own linen and bedding.

  • Fisherman Point

    Fish­er­man Point is a per­fect plat­form for adven­ture or a relax­ing get­away. Over­look­ing Spald­ing Cove and a beau­ti­ful white sandy beach, the camp­ground offers lots of out­doors oppor­tu­ni­ties. There are 19 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access via an all weath­er 2WD track, suit­able for tents, camper trail­ers and car­a­vans. Facil­i­ties, long-drop toi­let.   • Gatehouse Lodge

    Room con­fig­u­ra­tion is Bed­room 1 — one queen bed. Bed­room 2 — two sets of bunks. Facil­i­ties include dis­abled access show­er, toi­let, lim­it­ed pow­er points, gas stove, elec­tric fridge. All crock­ery, cut­lery, cook­ing uten­sils, pots & pans are sup­plied. Linen and bed­ding is not sup­plied you must bring your own sheets, pil­lows, blan­kets and tow­els. Gas heat­ing / no cooling.
  • Geltwood Beach campground

    Locat­ed 300 m from the ocean in cen­tral Canun­da. Acces­si­ble by 2WD and small/​medium sized car­a­vans. The high wave ener­gy sandy beach is unsafe for swim­ming. Lim­it­ed fresh water, but not rec­om­mend­ed for drink­ing. There is some wind pro­tec­tion but the coastal veg­e­ta­tion does not pro­vide shade.

  • Godfreys Landing

    Nat­ur­al, unshel­tered, unpow­ered camp­ground sit­u­at­ed on the edge of the Coorong lagoon and suit­able for 1 or 2 boats, tents or swags. There is a shel­tered seat­ing area with park infor­ma­tion and a walk­ing trail from the camp­ground to the ocean beach. Ameni­ties include a long drop toi­let and rain­wa­ter tap (not suit­able for drink­ing). Camp­fires are not allowed. Acces­si­ble by boat only
  • Googs Lake Campground

    Locat­ed in the north­east­ern cor­ner of the park along Googs Track, lies Googs Lake, a pop­u­lar tourist des­ti­na­tion with clear­ly marked scenic camp sites. The camp­ground offers some shade and is flat sandy terrain. 

    Access: 4WD only. 
    Suit­able for: tents and off-road camper trailers.
    Facil­i­ties: three pic­nic tables, toi­let locat­ed near west entrance of lake.

  • Grindells Hut

    The hut is locat­ed on the Wor­tu­pa Loop Road, (4WD) 26 km from the Park Head­quar­ters at Bal­canoona. The access road is not rec­om­mend­ed for 2WD vehi­cles due to rocky sec­tions, steep slopes and creek crossings.


    The hut con­sists of two bed­rooms, a sleep out, lounge, kitchen, store­room, laun­dry and bathroom.

    Bed­room One sleeps up to two peo­ple — one queen bed.

    Bed­room Two sleeps up to six peo­ple — three sets of bunks.

    The lounge has a com­bus­tion fire and lounge chairs.

    The kitchen is equipped with a gas fridge, gas stove/​oven, sink and all crock­ery and cut­lery. There is also a table with seat­ing for eight people.

    Solar light­ing and gas hot water avail­able. No pow­er points.

    Gas BBQ and wood BBQ.

  • Grindells Hut Campground (4WD Only)

    Locat­ed approx­i­mate­ly an hour’s dri­ve west of Bal­canoona via Wor­tu­pa Loop Track. Access is 10 km up Arka­roola Road then 17 km via the sign­post­ed 4WD track. Camp sites are locat­ed along the creek below Grindells Hut. Please camp in des­ig­nat­ed sites. The Wee­t­oot­la and Italowie Gorge hikes can be accessed from this camp­ing area.

  • Halligan Bay Point Campground

    Locat­ed on the shores of the lake this is an exposed flat camp­ground. When the lake is full, this spot can feel like beach camping

  • Harvey Return campground

    Harvey’s Return Camp­ground is a his­toric land­mark that once served as a sup­ply land­ing site for the Cape Bor­da Light­sta­tion. Embark on the Harvey’s Return Hike to explore the cove where light­keep­ers once hauled up stores using a horse-drawn winch and small rail cars. Geol­o­gy enthu­si­asts will be cap­ti­vat­ed by the strik­ing out­crops of tight­ly fold­ed, thin­ly bed­ded schists. For a deep­er dive into his­to­ry, fol­low the old cart track of the light­keep­ers along the Return Road Hike to the Cape Bor­da Light­sta­tion, with a side detour to admire the stun­ning coast­line at Scott Cove. Vis­it the near­by his­toric Lightkeeper’s Ceme­tery, or take a short dri­ve to expe­ri­ence the Ravine Hike.

    Ide­al for large school and com­mu­ni­ty groups, this open plan camp­ground pro­vides ease of super­vi­sion and a shel­tered area. Along­side is the nature play area, ready to cap­ti­vate imag­i­na­tive play. This site is unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing for a max­i­mum of six­ty guests.

    Access: 2WD, 4WD and Buses.

  • Horse Rock East

    Only a short dri­ve from the park entrance Horse Rock East camp­ground has beach front views of Prop­er Bay. There is 1 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­site. Access via sealed road and a short sandy dri­ve­way (4WD rec­om­mend­ed), suit­able for tents, camper trail­ers and car­a­vans. Small boats can be launched from the beach. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Stam­ford Hill (approx. 12km) . Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply).   • Ippinitchie Campground

    The Ippinitchie Camp­ground is locat­ed in the for­mer Wirrabara For­est off For­est Road approx­i­mate­ly 6 km west of Wirrabara. The Ippinitchie Camp­ground com­pris­es 10 small dis­persed sites along Ippinitchie Creek which runs sea­son­al­ly depend­ing on rain. The sur­round­ing for­est is a mix­ture of plan­ta­tion rem­nants and native wood­land pro­vid­ing pleas­ant shady camp­sites in a nat­ur­al set­ting with easy access to the new­ly cre­at­ed Wap­ma Thu­ra / South­ern Flinders Nation­al Park. Access by 2WD or 4WD. Suit­able for tents/​camper trailers/​caravans. Camp­fires to be con­tained to the fire pit only. Fire pits locat­ed with­in all camp­sites. BYO fire­wood (sea­son­al restric­tions apply). No dogs are allowed with­in this campground.
  • Italowie Gap Campground

    The Italowie Gap camp­ing areas are locat­ed approx­i­mate­ly 20 min­utes from Bal­canoona on the Cop­ley-Bal­canoona road. There are two camp­ing areas. The first area is on the south-west­ern side of the gap via a small access track. This area is set amongst riv­er red gums below a small cliff face and is a shady spot in sum­mer. The sec­ond area is locat­ed on the north-east­ern side of the gap, off the access track behind the infor­ma­tion bay. These sites are set amongst wat­tles and riv­er red gums near the start of the Italowie Gorge Hike.

  • Kaiser Strip campground

    Kaiser Strip is split by the Sturt High­way and the camp­sites are locat­ed on the Riv­er Mur­ray and Cham­bers Creek. These 14 sites offer shade and access to the Riv­er and water­ways of Loch Luna. Indi­vid­ual camp­sites offer the feel­ing of seclu­sion whilst not being too far from civilization. 

    Dogs ARE per­mit­ted with­in this sec­tion of the park only and must be kept on a lead at all times.

  • Karte Campground

    Camp sites are locat­ed near the start of the Karte walk­ing trail and pro­vide an oppor­tu­ni­ty to enjoy the park’s vast expanse of wilder­ness and admire stun­ning views across the dis­trict. You may even encounter one of the park’s res­i­dents such as the west­ern grey kan­ga­roos, echid­nas or fat-tailed dun­narts. The camp­ground pro­vides par­tial shade and pro­tec­tion from wind at some sites.

    Access: 2WD and 4WD.
    Suit­able for tents, select­ed sites are suit­able for camper trail­ers and caravans.

  • Kartoo Road Campsites

    This camp­ground has 7 camp sites along Kar­too Road (4WD only). Camp sites are locat­ed on the edge of Coorong Lagoon. Camp­site 7 is the only site acces­si­ble by 2WD via Long Point. Camp­site 6 is close to a boat launch­ing area which may be used by com­mer­cial fish­er­men ear­ly in the mornings.

  • Katarapko Campground

    Indi­vid­ual seclud­ed camp sites in this sec­tion are sit­u­at­ed along the majes­tic Mur­ray Riv­er, Eck­erts Creek and Katara­p­ko Creek. Most camp­sites offer shade and the abil­i­ty to launch canoes. Learn about Wet­lands on the Ngak Indau Wet­land Trail, Euro­pean his­to­ry on the Crag­gs Hut Walk, or Abo­rig­i­nal his­to­ry on the Kai Kai Nature Trail. New to the Park are the Katara­p­ko and Rodeo Trails. More infor­ma­tion is avail­able on the website. 

    Dogs ARENOT per­mit­ted in the Katara­p­ko Camp­ground camp­ing areas. Dogs are only per­mit­ted on a leash in the Old Rodeo grounds area between Berri and the first bridge/​creek cross­ing. Please refer to the Park map.

  • Kings Site Campground

    Locat­ed 5 km south-west of Innam­inc­ka, this camp­ground is where John King, the sole sur­vivor of the Burke and Wills expe­di­tion was found alive in 1861. Access is via the Fif­teen Mile Track. The camp­ground has 3 camp sites.

  • Kingston on Murray Campground

    Kingston-on-Mur­ray pro­vides seclud­ed camp­sites with good access to the riv­er with no facil­i­ties. It is bush camp­ing with only a fire ring pro­vid­ed. It is close to the town­ship of Kingston-on-Mur­ray which has pub­lic toi­lets and boat ramps, unfor­tu­nate­ly the shop has closed down, so the clos­est town is Barmera for food and sup­plies. The park pro­vides a great oppor­tu­ni­ty to launch canoes and explore the water­ways of Cham­bers Creek, part of Loch Luna Game Reserve.

    The large trees pro­vide habi­tat for native wildlife, and it is a great place to relax and unwind.

    Dogs are per­mit­ted on a leash with­in Kingston-on-Mur­ray and fires are per­mit­ted in the fire rings out­side of the fire dan­ger sea­son. You must bring your own fire­wood and take your rub­bish home with you.

    The camp­sites are suit­able for tents, swags, car­a­vans and camper trail­ers with a large turn-around area at the end of the park. There are four allo­cat­ed campsites.
  • Kolay Campground Gawler Ranges National Park

    Pitch a tent amid rocky gorges and val­leys at the foot of a gran­ite hill, or on a grassy plain. Relax under the stars at night and wake to the sound of bird­song, and the fra­grant scent of the Aus­tralian bush. Offer­ing views of Mt Fair­field, this camp­ground is only acces­si­ble to 4WD vehi­cles and has unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing for ten vehicles.

  • Koolamon Campground

    Sit­u­at­ed on Aroona Creek at the base of the ABC Range this camp­ground offers stun­ning views of the land­scape that inspired artist Sir Hans Hey­sen. The 4WD sec­tion is sur­round­ed by riv­er red gums and aca­cias. There is a small area for 2WD vehi­cles. This camp­ground pro­vides min­i­mal shade and shared firepits and bbq plates.

    Nul­la­bor Nation­al Park, Wilder­ness Pro­tec­tion Area and Region­al Reserve is for the intre­pid and patient vis­i­tor who wants to enjoy the unpar­al­leled seren­i­ty and a sense of remote beau­ty and iso­la­tion that is rare. Camp out under the stars at this camp­ground, which has unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing com­pris­ing of 3 camp sites with flat sur­faces but min­i­mal shade. There is no phone cov­er­age we rec­om­mend you down­load the direc­tions to the camp­site beforehand.

    Access: 2WD and 4WD access via 14km dirt road from Eyre High­way. The road may be rough and care needs to be taken.

  • Kotgee campground

    Locat­ed 2.4kmsouth of South-end. Acces­si­bly by 2WD vehi­cle on an unsealed road with a small to medi­um sized car­a­van. Lim­it­ed fresh water, but not rec­om­mend­ed for drink­ing. Some pri­vate sites and all offer rea­son­able to good wind pro­tec­tion, but with min­i­mal shade. Large gum trees pro­vide shade, com­mu­ni­ty fire site area. Cliff tops and rock pools are 1km away via 2WD track or walking.

  • Kurri Ngawanthi (Creek Campground)

    Pro­nounced Koor-ee Ngah-wun-thee and locat­ed on the Wild South Coast Way on the Hey­sen Trail in Bal­la­parud­da Creek Recre­ation Park, this is a hik­er-only camp­ground. This loca­tion is the site of the for­mer Balquhid­der Camp­site. Set in between rolling hills and next to Bal­la­parud­da Creek, the camp­ground is a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy the scenery. You’re like­ly to hear a sym­pho­ny of frogs when the creek is flow­ing, as the healthy envi­ron­ment here sup­ports sev­er­al species. Facil­i­ties include a camp shel­ter with tables, bench and basin and near­by toi­let. Camp­fires pro­hib­it­ed at all times. Camp­ing capac­i­ty is max­i­mum 20 guests with 10 allo­cat­ed camp­sites (max­i­mum 2 peo­ple per site). Camp­sites are either plat­form or com­pact­ed earth. Unpow­ered. This is a hik­er-only camp­site with no vehi­cle park­ing or vehi­cle access.

    If you are leav­ing a vehi­cle in Deep Creek Nation­al Park overnight, you must pay a one-off vehi­cle day entry fee for camp­ing in the park. Vehi­cles may only be parked at day vis­i­tor areas.
  • Laura Bay Campground

    Dis­cov­er the habi­tat of bush birds and oth­er ani­mals — you may even see hon­ey-eaters which are attract­ed to the flow­er­ing plants, or west­ern grey kan­ga­roos that often seek shade from the heat of the day. There is min­i­mal shade and the ground sur­face is flat sandy soil. This camp­ground has unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing for three vehicles.

  • Lincoln Track

    Over­look­ing Prop­er Bay with beach front, this is a quite and peace­ful camp­ground. There are 4 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access is 4WD only, suit­able for tents and camper trail­ers. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Stam­ford Hill (approx. 16km). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks, trekking and kayaking.
  • Loch Luna campground

    Explore the flood­plain and wet­lands of Loch Luna Game Reserve as it boasts numer­ous nar­row creeks and shal­low swamps that pro­vide impor­tant habi­tats for many aquat­ic birds and mam­mals. Camp­sites are pop­u­lar recre­ation sites dot­ted along Cham­bers and Nock­bur­ra creeks, per­fect for canoe­ing and boat­ing, or per­haps try a spot of fish­ing . Sites offer plen­ty of room to move, with shade and water access to launch canoes.

  • Lyrup Flats Section

    Sit­u­at­ed on the flood­plain on the north­ern side of the riv­er and near the fer­ry at Lyrup. A won­der­ful oppor­tu­ni­ty for bird-watch­ing, fish­ing and camp­ing. Seclud­ed camp­sites, most with ample shade, are sit­u­at­ed along the Mur­ray River.

    Dogs ARE per­mit­ted in the Lyrup Flats area of the park pro­vid­ing they are on a lead. Access 4WD or 2WD in dry con­di­tions. Suit­able for tent, camper trail­er, car­a­van.   • MacLaren Point

    Camp­ing at Maclaren Point pro­vides a sense of remote­ness and access to one of the many beau­ti­ful beach­es in the park. The beach is exposed to east­er­ly winds. There are 4 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access is 4WD only, suit­able for tents and off-road camper trail­ers. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Fish­er­man Point (approx. 7km). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks, trekking and kayaking.
  • Mainwater Well Campground (4WD Only)

    The Main­wa­ter Well camp­ing area is approx­i­mate­ly two hours’ dri­ve north-west of Bal­canoona via Wor­tu­pa Loop Track. A small camp­ing area is locat­ed next to the old well along­side the tea-tree lined Main­wa­ter Creek. This camp­ing area pro­vides a great base from which to explore the north­ern areas of the park and for hik­ers to explore Main­wa­ter Creek. The camp sites pro­vide par­tial shade and wind protection.

Motor­boats, camp fires, fish­ing and gen­er­a­tors are not per­mit­ted in the park, ensur­ing a gen­uine wilder­ness expe­ri­ence. Malkum­ba-Coongie Lakes offers camp­ing around the lake’s edge. Toi­let facil­i­ties are locat­ed at the Coop­er Creek day vis­i­tor area and campground.

The sites are part shad­ed and shel­tered from most winds. Book­ings are essen­tial from the Port Lin­coln Vis­i­tor Infor­ma­tion Cen­tre (1300 788 378).   • Morgan Campground

    Camp­sites are sit­u­at­ed along the Mur­ray Riv­er with the abil­i­ty to launch canoes from most sites. A boat ramp is sit­u­at­ed at the end of the Park for larg­er ves­sels. Qui­et­ly pad­dle bird-watch­ing par­adise with numer­ous species of bird life inhab­it­ing the park. Look out for the regent par­rots, pel­i­cans and white-faced herons. Many camp sites offer par­tial shade and access to the riv­er for canoe launch.

    At the west­ern end of stun­ning Sev­en Mile beach, this remote and seclud­ed camp­ground is nes­tled among a grove of shady paper­bark trees behind a low coastal fore dune. All camp sites are with­in 100 metres of the beach and pro­tect­ed from most winds. Small boats can be launched from the beach. There are 4 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access is 4WD only, suit­able for tents and off-road camper trail­ers. Facil­i­ties, long-drop toi­let.   • Mt Finke Campground

    Camp out under the stars amongst the true wilder­ness with 4WD tracks to explore and rare wildlife to be found. The camp­ground has unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing, com­pris­ing of four camp­sites with up to 13 vehi­cles per­mit­ted at this camp­ground. There is lit­tle shade and the ter­rain is flat and rocky.

    Locat­ed with­in Cape Gantheaume Con­ser­va­tion Park, Mur­ray Lagoon camp­ground is an ide­al loca­tion to for star watch­ing, mag­i­cal sun­ris­es and sun­sets. The per­fect step­ping stone for explor­ing the South Coast of the island, includ­ing the near­by Seal Bay Con­ser­va­tion Park. Enjoy and explore the three walk­ing trails locat­ed close by the camp­ground, Tim­ber Creek Walk, Bald Hill Walk and Cur­ley Creek Hike. Access: 2WD and 4WD. Suit­able for tents, camper trail­ers and car­a­vans. Also facil­i­tates large school groups (30+ per­sons). This new­ly con­struct­ed camp­ground has facil­i­ties includ­ing a camp shel­ter with a gas bar­be­cue, pic­nic tables, 4 com­mu­nal fire pits and long drop toi­let facil­i­ties.   • Natunyuru Ngawanthi (Sand Dunes campground)

    Pro­nounced Nut-un-yoo-roo Ngah-wun-thee and locat­ed on the Wild South Coast Way on the Hey­sen Trail in New­land Head Con­ser­va­tion Park, this is a hik­er-only camp­ground. Sur­round­ed by coastal white mallee, this camp­ground pro­vides a seclud­ed area to relax after tra­vers­ing the coastal cliffs or long sandy beach­es. The mallee canopy pro­vides a per­fect envi­ron­ment for the small orchids that thrive here and the echid­nas that wan­der through search­ing for their next meal. Facil­i­ties include a camp shel­ter with tables, bench and basin and near­by toi­let. Camp­fires are pro­hib­it­ed at all times. Camp­ing capac­i­ty is max­i­mum 20 guests with 10 allo­cat­ed camp­sites (max­i­mum 2 peo­ple per site). Camp­sites are com­pact­ed earth. Unpow­ered. This is a hik­er-only camp­site with no vehi­cle park­ing or access

    If you are leav­ing a vehi­cle in Deep Creek Nation­al Park overnight, you must pay a one-off vehi­cle day entry fee for camp­ing in the park. Vehi­cles may only be parked at day vis­i­tor areas.

    Coorong Nation­al Park is a mag­nif­i­cent place to enjoy true wilder­ness by hik­ing, bik­ing or canoe­ing. If stay­ing overnight, a per­mit for each per­son is required. Please choose a camp site care­ful­ly not to dis­turb native veg­e­ta­tion or wildlife, and not in a num­bered camp­site. For groups larg­er then 20 per­sons please call the Coorong Office to orga­nize a group dis­count (08 7133 7270).

  • Norfolk Lodge

    Room con­fig­u­ra­tion is Bed­room 1 — one queen bed. Bed­room 2 — two sin­gle beds. Facil­i­ties include show­er, toi­let, lim­it­ed pow­er points, gas stove, elec­tric fridge. All crock­ery, cut­lery, cook­ing uten­sils, pots & pans are sup­plied. Linen and bed­ding is not sup­plied you must bring your own sheets, pil­lows, blan­kets and tow­els. Wood com­bus­tion heater (you will need to bring your own firewood)/ no cooling.
  • Nudlamutana Hut

    The Hut is locat­ed approx­i­mate­ly 21km form the Bal­canoona Park Headquarters.This track is rough in places but is acces­si­ble with 2WDs, if due care is tak­en. Park­ing is pro­vid­ed with­in the yard at the hut. 

    The hut con­sist of one bed­room, lounge, kitchen and an out­side bathroom.

    The bed­room sleeps up to four peo­ple — one dou­ble bed and one set of bunks.

    The lounge has a com­bus­tion fire and lounge chairs.

    The kitchen is equipped with a small fridge, gas stove/​oven, table (seat­ing four), sink and basic crock­ery and cutlery.

    What to bring: All linen, blan­kets, pil­lows, tow­els, tea tow­els, toi­let paper, match­es and fire­wood (if required).
  • Number Two Rocks campground

    This camp­ground offers rea­son­able wind pro­tec­tion with min­i­mal shade and is acces­si­ble by 4WD only. There are 7 camp­sites suit­able for tents or off road campers trail­ers. There is some wind pro­tec­tion but the coastal veg­e­ta­tion does not pro­vide shade. A scenic, safe swim­ming lagoon style beach is locat­ed nearby.

The high wave ener­gy sand beach is unsafe for swim­ming. Lim­it­ed fresh water and pit-style toi­let is avail­able on site. There is rea­son­able wind pro­tec­tion but the coastal veg­e­ta­tion does not pro­vide shade.

    Just off the Ngarkat Hwy, this camp­ground pro­vides a great overnight stay for 2wd vehi­cles. The camp­ground is hid­den amongst the mallee with access to toi­let facil­i­ty and an inter­pre­tive wak­ing trail. The area is also rich in his­to­ry with an restored hut to view.

  • Pink Gum Campground

    Locat­ed 45 km south of Ade­laide, Pink Gum Camp­ground is one of our newest facil­i­ties, offer­ing a qui­et get­away from sub­ur­ban life. Sit­u­at­ed in the South East­ern cor­ner of the park, the camp­ground offers eleven allo­cat­ed camp sites and is acces­si­ble by 2WD.

    Access: 2WD and 4WD.

  • Point Bell Campground

    This small rocky point with gran­ite boul­ders con­tains long, sandy beach­es and sand dunes. The park pro­vides excel­lent fish­ing, but be advised strong cur­rents and rips can make swim­ming dan­ger­ous in this area. The four unal­lo­cat­ed camp sites are scat­tered through­out the park and offer min­i­nal shade. They are acces­si­ble by 4WD only.

    Locat­ed on the banks of Coop­er Creek, 2 km south-west of Innam­inc­ka, this is our clos­est camp­ground to the Innam­inc­ka town­ship on the south­ern side of Coop­er Creek. 
    Access is via Fif­teen Mile Track.

  • Postmans Cottage

    This her­itage-list­ed cot­tage offers cosy self-con­tained accom­mo­da­tion for up to two guests. Stun­ning­ly restored and updat­ed, the cot­tage fea­tures an open-plan lounge, din­ing and kitchen, one bed­room with a queen size bed, and a spa­cious ensuite bathroom.

    Designed with acces­si­bil­i­ty in mind, the cot­tage has step-free access through­out, spa­cious rooms, acces­si­ble bath­room with roll-in show­er, wall-mount­ed show­er chair and on-site dis­abled park­ing. Cook­ing basics (tea, instant cof­fee, sug­ar, oil, salt and pep­per) are provided.

    Take the oppor­tu­ni­ty to dis­con­nect from the busy world (there is no wifi or TV and phone recep­tion is lim­it­ed), and con­nect with your loved ones – board games and cards are provided.

    Enjoy out­door din­ing on the large paved deck and gath­er­ing around the fire pit in the cool­er months (fire restric­tions apply), while Cape Bar­ren geese and kan­ga­roos graze just steps away.

    This camp­ground is locat­ed near Queer­bi­die Water­hole and is just 1.5 km from the Innam­inc­ka town­ship. This is our clos­est camp­ground to the Innam­inc­ka Town­ship and is locat­ed on the north­ern side of the Coop­er Creek cause­way. There is min­i­mal shade at this campground.

    Richard­sons Shack camp­ground has beau­ti­ful views of the shel­tered Spald­ing Cove. There is par­tial shade and expo­sure to west­er­ly winds. The camp­ground offers unal­lo­cat­ed and unpow­ered camp­ing for 5 vehi­cles. Access all weath­er 2WD track, suit­able for tents, camper trail­ers and car­a­vans. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Fish­er­man Point (approx 1.5km). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply).   • Rocky River Campground

    Nes­tled with­in the heart of Flinders Chase Nation­al Park, Rocky Riv­er Camp­ground serves as the per­fect base for dis­cov­er­ing some of Kan­ga­roo Island’s most breath­tak­ing attrac­tions. Remark­able Rocks and Admi­rals Arch are just a 20-minute dri­ve away, while sev­er­al scenic walk­ing trails are with­in easy reach. You might even catch a glimpse of the elu­sive platy­pus on the near­by Platy­pus Water­holes Walk. The camp­ground is equipped with excel­lent facil­i­ties, includ­ing hot show­ers, flush­ing toi­lets, and BBQs, mak­ing it the per­fect retreat for fam­i­lies and nature-lovers seek­ing some com­fort amidst the island’s rugged beauty.

  • Scrubby Peak Campground Gawler Ranges National Park

    Spa­cious camp­ground set amongst the mallee which is acces­si­ble for high clear­ance 2WD vehi­cles in good weath­er. This camp­ground has a flat sur­face, a fire pit and is part­ly shady. The site has unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing for ten vehicles.

With lim­it­ed shade and wind pro­tec­tion, the camp­ground offers unal­lo­cat­ed and unpow­ered camp­ing for 2 vehi­cles. Access 4WD only, suit­able for tents and off-road camper trail­ers.     Sep­tem­ber Beach camp­ground is very pop­u­lar hav­ing large and well spaced camp­sites, each camp­site is sep­a­rat­ed by a screen of shady trees. There are 10 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access via an all weath­er 2WD track, suit­able for tents, camper trail­ers and car­a­vans. Facil­i­ties, long-drop toi­let. Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks, trekking and kayak­ing.   • Stenhouse Bay Campground

    Sur­fleet Cove Camp­ground over­looks the pro­tect­ed waters of Boston Bay. The camp­ground is sur­round­ed by tall euca­lypt wood­lands pro­vid­ing shel­ter from most winds and habi­tat for lots of birds and oth­er wildlife. There is easy access to great walk­ing trails. There are 18 allo­cat­ed and 1 group unpow­ered camp­sites. Access via a sealed road, suit­able for tents to large car­a­vans and motorhomes. Facil­i­ties, long-drop toi­lets.   • Tallaringa Camping

    This vast wilder­ness of veg­e­tat­ed dunes and gib­ber ris­es is home to an incred­i­ble array of wildlife species unique­ly adapt­ed to their arid envi­ron­ment.   • Taylors Landing

    This camp­ground is shel­tered in mallee scrub behind the beach which is acces­si­ble via a board­walk and stairs. Boats can be launched from a con­crete boat ramp. There are 4 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access via an all weath­er 2WD track, suit­able for tents, and camper trail­ers. Facil­i­ties, long-drop toi­let.   • Tea Tree Crossing - Oystercatcher campground

    This camp­ground is sit­u­at­ed between Loop Road and the Coorong Lagoon and offers 4 allo­cat­ed camp sites of vary­ing sizes. Camp­sites are shel­tered by veg­e­ta­tion, some with views of the Coorong Lagoon. Access by 4WD only. Suit­able for camper trail­ers and tents. Facil­i­ties: nil.   • Tea Tree Crossing campground

    Please note: there is cur­rent­ly water over Tea Tree Cross­ing. This water is very salty and may be harm­ful to your vehi­cle. The water lev­el can change rapid­ly as wind will push the water up and down the lagoon. Mark­ers show the depth of the water.
    Access to the camp­ground via the ocean beach is not rec­om­mend­ed as dri­ving con­di­tions along the beach can be extreme­ly dan­ger­ous due to severe ero­sion and dune col­laps­es caused by sea­son­al high tides and sea surges.
    It is not rec­om­mend­ed that you tow any form of trail­er, camper or car­a­van along the ocean beach. Clear­ance can be an issue and there may be lim­it­ed oppor­tu­ni­ty to turn around.
    This camp­ground is a large, unal­lo­cat­ed grassed area with shel­ter pro­vid­ed by vegetation.

  • Teamsters Campground

    This camp­ground sits high on the cliffs of the Brachi­na Creek, near to where it flows onto the plains, on its way to Lake Tor­rens. Exam­ples of fos­sil worm bur­rows and Wilka­w­il­l­i­na lime­stone fos­sils can be found near­by. This camp­ground has shared firepits with bbq plates, an area for bus park­ing and lim­it­ed shade.

    Access: access by high clear­ance 2WD, select­ed sites are 4WD only.
    Suit­able for: bus, car­a­vans, camper trail­ers, tents.
    Facil­i­ties: long-drop toilet.

  • The Gums campground

    The camp­ground offers good wind pro­tec­tion with some sites shad­ed by mallee gums. Shad­ed pic­nic area amongst gum trees near­by. 1.5 km to back beach for surf­ing and fish­ing along 4wd track. The camp­ground has 5 allo­cat­ed camp­ing sites and is acces­si­ble by 2WD with high clear­ance or 4WD.

  • The Pool Campground (4WD)

    Locat­ed close to Point Sir Isaac, The Pool camp­ground is the most remote and dif­fi­cult to access camp­ground in Cof­fin Bay Nation­al Park. The camp­ground is set among mallee behind the fore dunes. Shade is lim­it­ed. There are 7 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Small boats can be launched from the beach via Site 2. Access is 4WD only, suit­able for tents and off-road camper trail­ers. Facil­i­ties, long-drop toi­let. Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, beach walks, surf­ing, 4WDing, kayaking.
  • Tolderol campground

    Tolderol Game Reserve will be closed from the 6 Jan­u­ary 2025 until July 2025 for pub­lic safe­ty while major con­struc­tion works are under­way to improve wet­land habi­tat as part of the Healthy Coorong Healthy Basin project. 


    Tolderol Camp­ground is locat­ed on the banks of Lake Alexan­d­ri­na. Tolderol Game Reserve con­sists of a series of con­struct­ed open and shal­low basins with con­nect­ing chan­nels and lev­ee banks.

    Access: 2WD and 4WD.
    Suit­able for tent, camper trailer.
    Facil­i­ties: no facilities.

    This peace­ful camp­ground along Brachi­na Gorge Road is ide­al­ly locat­ed for sev­er­al loop walks. The camp­ground is a short walk from the inter­na­tion­al­ly-sig­nif­i­cant geo­log­i­cal Edi­acaran Gold­en Spike.

    Access: access by high clear­ance 2WD and 4WD.
    Suit­able for: tents, camper trail­ers, caravans.
    Facil­i­ties: long-drop toi­let, pic­nic area.

  • Waitpinga campground

    A short walk from Wait­pin­ga Beach (where there are ide­al con­di­tions for surf­ing or a spot of fish­ing, but not suit­able for swim­ming), this camp­ground is shel­tered from the wind where you can camp among the mallee or in open areas pro­tect­ed by shrubs. It is an unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ground and vehi­cles have to be parked at car park­ing bays. There are a num­ber of walk­ing trails start­ing from this campground.

    Access 2WD and 4WD.
    Suit­able for tents or swags.
    Facil­i­ties: flush­ing toi­lets, com­mu­nal gas BBQ, pic­nic shel­ter and tables, rain­wa­ter tank.

  • Weetootla Gorge Campground, Wiriti Urdla

    Wee­t­oot­la Camp­ground is locat­ed to the west of Bal­canoona at the end of Wee­t­oot­la Gorge. Camp sites are locat­ed along Bal­canoona Creek among mallee, native pines and bul­lock bush. The camp­ing area is approx­i­mate­ly 20 min­utes from Bal­canoona, 2 km towards Arka­roola then 5 km along the sign­post­ed track. The camp­ground is locat­ed approx­i­mate­ly 4 km from the infor­ma­tion bay. Des­ig­nat­ed camp sites are set out adja­cent to the pit toi­lets. These can also be found 1 km fur­ther on, near the Wee­t­oot­la Gorge trailhead.

    Access: 2WD and 4WD.
    Suit­able for: tents, camper trail­ers and small caravans.
    Facil­i­ties: long-drop toilets.

  • West Bay Campground (4WD)

    Locat­ed at the west­ern end of Flinders Chase Nation­al Park, this seclud­ed camp­ground set with­in a stun­ning coastal land­scape is a short walk from a tran­quil bay.

    Access: 4WD only. Not suit­able for car­a­vans or large vehicles.
    Suit­able for: tents and small camper trail­ers. Access to camp­sites may be tight with lim­it­ed space for maneu­ver­ing camper trailers.
    Facil­i­ties: long drop toi­let, pic­nic area.
    Camp­fires: not allowed.
    Num­ber of camp­sites: 8 allo­cat­ed campsites.
    Elec­tric­i­ty: unpowered.
    The camp­sites pro­vide very min­i­mal shade and wind protection.

    Dogs are not allowed.
  • Wilcolo Hikers only

    Locat­ed along the North­ern of South Aus­trali­a’s Hey­sen Trail, this camp­ground is nes­tled between native pine and the East­ern side wall of the Pound. St Mary’s Peak offers a spec­tac­u­lar back­ground. Ide­al­ly sit­u­at­ed for walk­ers using the Hey­sen Trail and for cyclists on the Maw­son Trail or Flinders Ranges by Bike loop trail. Also as a remote camp for school groups.

    No vehi­cle access.
    Suit­able for tents only.
    Facil­i­ties: long drop toi­let, rain water tank.
    Camp­fires: Not per­mit­ted at any­time of the year. Camp stoves per­mit­ted for hik­ers and cyclists only.

  • Wirra Campground

    Sit­u­at­ed on the east­ern side of the park amongst the pink gums, grass trees and hop bush, this camp­ground has nine­teen camp­sites, includ­ing some camp sites that are suit­able for small camper vans (RVs) and camper trail­ers. Camp­ing here is con­ve­nient for city-dwellers, fam­i­lies and first-time campers. It’s locat­ed just south-east of Gawler and is one of the clos­est places to Ade­laide that you can camp in a nation­al park. 
    Upon mak­ing a book­ing campers will be sent infor­ma­tion about access the site and oth­er restric­tion at the time of booking.
  • Wisemans Shack

    Only a short dri­ve from the park entrance Wise­mans shack camp­ground has beach front views of Prop­er Bay. There are 3 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access is 4WD only, suit­able for tents and camper trail­ers. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Stam­ford Hill (approx. 20km). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks, 4WDing, kayaking.
  • Wittelbee Campground

    Sur­round­ed by mallee and high sand dunes, the low rocky head­land of Wit­tel­bee Point has plen­ty of bush­walk­ing tracks to explore. This camp­site per­mits up to 4 vehi­cles and is sandy, rock ter­rain with lit­tle shade.

    Access: 2WD and 4WD.

    Facil­i­ties: nil.

No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Stam­ford Hill (approx. 12km). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply).   • Wreck Crossing campground

    Only acces­si­ble dur­ing the sum­mer months, this camp­ground has 5 allo­cat­ed camp sites offer­ing shade and is acces­si­ble by 2WD. This camp­ground may be closed dur­ing win­ter due to wet conditions.

  • Wuldi Krikin Ngawanthi (Eagle Waterhole)

    Pro­nounced Wool-dee Krik-ren Ngah-wun-thee and locat­ed on the Hey­sen Trail in Deep Creek Nation­al Park, this is a hik­er-only camp­ground. Nes­tled amongst shady gum trees and icon­ic yac­cas, this camp­ground gives a real sense of being in the wilder­ness. Fern-lined gul­lies, cas­cad­ing water­falls and a spec­tac­u­lar coast­line of cliffs and seclud­ed coves are all a short jour­ney from here. Facil­i­ties include a camp shel­ter with tables, bench and basin and near­by toi­let. Camp­fires pro­hib­it­ed at all times. Camp­ing capac­i­ty is max­i­mum 20 guests with 10 allo­cat­ed camp­sites (max­i­mum 2 peo­ple per site). Camp­sites are raised tim­ber plat­forms or com­pact­ed earth. Unpow­ered. This is a hik­er-only camp­site with no vehi­cle park­ing or access.

    If you are leav­ing a vehi­cle in Deep Creek Nation­al Park overnight, you must pay a one-off vehi­cle day entry fee for camp­ing in the park. Vehi­cles may only be parked at day vis­i­tor areas.
  • Yandinga Campground Gawler Ranges National Park

    Nes­tled in a gul­ly offer­ing par­tial shade pro­tec­tion and a fire pit, this camp­ground is acces­si­ble for high clear­ance 2WD vehi­cles in good weath­er only. This camp­ground has unal­lo­cat­ed camp­ing for nine vehicles.

  • Yangie Bay Campground

    With a choice of sites hav­ing bay views or being among shady sheoaks the Yang­ie Bay camp­ground has some­thing for every­one. This pop­u­lar camp­ground is the only 2WD acces­si­ble camp­ground in the park. Yang­ie bay is great for kayak­ing and pad­dle board­ing. There are 19 allo­cat­ed, unpow­ered camp­sites. Access via a sealed road, suit­able for tents to large car­a­vans and motorhomes. Facil­i­ties, long-drop toi­lets. Camp­fires per­mit­ted, shared fire pits pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, short walks, trekking and kayaking.
  • Yangie Bay, Big - 4WD only.

    Locat­ed 2km along the 4WD Cof­fin track, the camp­ing area is also pop­u­lar for pic­nick­ing. Big Yang­ie Bay is a shal­low, pro­tect­ed inlet great for kayaks and pad­dle boards. The camp­ground offers unal­lo­cat­ed and unpow­ered camp­ing for 7 vehi­cles. Access 4WD only, suit­able for tents and off-road camper trail­ers. No facil­i­ties, near­est are at Yang­ie Bay (approx 2km). Camp­fires per­mit­ted, fire pits not pro­vid­ed (sea­son­al fire restric­tions and con­di­tions apply). Swim­ming, beach fish­ing, bird­watch­ing, 4WDing and kayaking.
  • Yapari Ngawanthi (Cliffs campground)

    Pro­nounced Yah-pah-ree Ngah-wun-thee and locat­ed on the Wild South Coast Way on the Hey­sen Trail in Deep Creek Nation­al Park, this is a hik­er-only camp­ground. Set below a canopy of stringy­bark trees, the camp­ground is a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy the scenery. An ele­vat­ed plat­form pro­vides fan­tas­tic ocean views over the tree­tops. Facil­i­ties include a camp shel­ter with tables, bench and basin and near­by toi­let. Camp­fires are pro­hib­it­ed at all times. Camp­ing capac­i­ty is max­i­mum 20 guests with 10 allo­cat­ed camp­site (max­i­mum 2 peo­ple per site). Camp­sites are either plat­form or earth. Unpow­ered. This is a hik­er-only camp­site with no vehi­cle park­ing or vehi­cle access.

    This camp­ground is locat­ed at the east­ern end of the Brachi­na Gorge Road, where Ora­parin­na Creek joins the Eno­ra­ma Creek. Var­i­ous camp sites offer part shade.
