3 Mile Bend Campground is located approximately 3 km northwest of Beachport via the Lake George Road. Sites vary in size, with most being suitable for small to medium sized caravans and are accessible by 2WD. Each site is nestled under paper bark tea-trees, offering good shade and wind protection. The lake is salty and not suitable for swimming, but is home to many types of water birds. The back beach is approximately 1.5km to the west, along a sandy track.
Access 2WD (avoid sandy areas).

The bush camping area at 3 O’Clock Creek offers shady camping spots and water. This bore water is the last place to fill up on drinking water before you cross the desert.

The campground is normally accessible with 2WD or 4WD and has a large grassed area which is semi-sheltered by vegetation. A walking trail leads to the beach from the campground.
There are 30 unpowered campsites which are not numbered, allowing for group camping. They are suitable for caravans, camper trailers and tents. Facilities include an accessible long-drop toilet, disabled parking and sheltered picnic area.
Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits — seasonal fire restrictions apply.

Nestled between two mountain ranges, this small campground surrounded by native pine trees is a short walk from Bunyeroo Gorge. The campground has 4 allocated campsites and is accessible by high clearance 2WD.

Alligator Lodge Accommodation
Alligator Lodge is a spacious three bedroom self-contained lodge set into the hillside. Lodge includes an internal bathroom with shower cubicle, bath and a separate toilet. Ideally located to explore the parks numerous bushwalking trails and a short drive to the parks scenic gorges. The lounge rooms floor to ceiling windows offer surrounding views of the bush and where you can sit back and enjoy the natural surroundings.Antechamber Bay Campground
Located on the northern side of the Chapman River, this campground consists of camp sites with nearby walking trails providing access to the beach and the river. Various sites offer part shade and wind protection. Good safe calm water great for kayaking in the Chapman River.

The campground is located on the western side of the ranges approximately 1.5 hours drive from Balcanoona via the Copley-Balcanoona and Umberatana Rroads. Camp sites are located near the end of the track, close to the river red gums and native pines of Arcoona Creek. This camp provides a great base for hikers wishing to explore Arcoona Bluff and the Gammon Plateau.

Located at the northern-most point of the park, this campground is the starting point for several loop walks. The campground is on the edge of the Aroona Creek between two mountain ranges. The Heysen Trail runs close to this campground. The campground has 13 allocated camp sites and is accessible by 4WD.

The Shearers Quarters are located at Balcanoona directly opposite the National Parks Office, and keys are obtainable from the office.
The Shearers Quarters consist of a large communal kitchen and lounge area in the centre of the building and smaller bedrooms off the veranda.
Each bedroom sleeps up to 2 people (2 single beds). A total of 8 single rooms plus the Managers room (Sleeps 3) are available. Fans, lighting and a power point are available. Each room has Evaporative air-conditioning and No heating.
The communal kitchen is equipped with two large fridges and one large chest freezer, gas stove/oven, tables and chairs, sink and all crockery and cutlery.
The communal lounge has a combustion heater (Wood provided), assorted lounges, large table and chairs and a TV.
There are external showers & toilets, a laundry area with a large washing machine and a large gas BBQ and fire pit.

This campground is located on the edge of the Coorong lagoon and only accessible by boat or canoe.
There is one unpowered campsite which is suitable for tents.

Located near the western entrance to the park, this campground has 9 sites that offer various levels of shade and protection from the wind.
Access: 2WD and 4WD.
Suitable for tents, camper trailers with selected sites suitable for caravans.

Please note; Coorong National Park ocean beach conditions are regularly changing at this time of year due to severe erosion and dune collapses associated with high tides and sea surges.
Driving on the Coorong National Park ocean beach can be a high risk activity under these conditions which could affect your personal safety and could result in damage to your vehicle.
Driving behind and within the dunes on non-designated tracks is prohibited at all times.
When access is possible, camp in unallocated sites between the high and low water marks. You will need a permit for each vehicle.
Access is by 4WD only. Experience in soft sand driving is essential.

Located beside a remote sandy beach, Black Springs campground is surrounded by mallee and paper bark trees and overlooks Port Douglas. There are 8 allocated, unpowered campsites. The camping area is set on top of limestone cliffs overlooking Port Douglas with tea-tree and mallee vegetation providing limited shade. The area provides overflow camping for the main Black Springs campground. There is exposure to north and east winds. The campground offers unallocated and unpowered camping for 8 vehicles. Access 4WD only, suitable for tents and off-road camper trailers. No facilities, nearest are at Black Springs (approx 600m). Access via Paringa.
Dogs are now permitted in the Border Cliffs campground, providing it is on a lead not exceeding three metres in length, or confined in a motor vehicle, trailer or vessel.
Border Cliffs Campground is located 30 km northeast of Paringa, along the banks of the River Murray. It’s the perfect base for exploring the nearby Border Cliffs Customers House Wetland Walking Trail or launching a canoe or kayak. The campground provides areas of part shade and protection from wind on slightly sloping bare ground. Note, there is no phone reception once down in the campground.

Suitable for tents only on the river front. Caravans or campervans may use the car park area at their campsite but cannot access the river front.

Accessible by 4WD only, Box Flat Campground is situated near an old outstation of the Garra Pastoral lease and Box Flat soakage. The ruins of the old stone building are a short walk from the camping area. During winter the soakages hold water, attracting wildlife.

Bool Lagoon is one of the largest and most diverse freshwater lagoon systems in southern Australia. This seasonal wetland is home to a wide range of wildlife and provides essential drought refuge for many rare and endangered bird species. Take a drive to the top of Big Hill to see just how big these wetlands really are. The boardwalk, extending 500 meters over the wetlands, gives you the feeling of walking on water.

Located in Danggali Conservation Park. These quarters offer spacious, self-contained accommodation for up to 12 people. The quarters also have a fully equipped recently refurbished kitchen and dining room. Verandas offer respite from the sun and a place to sit and enjoy the serenity of the area whilst cooking your tea on the BBQ. A fire pit is also available for night time comfort fires.Cape Banks campground
Located approximately 5km NW from Carpenter Rocks. Accessible by 2WD and with a small caravan. Situated near the historical Cape Banks Lighthouse, there are 6 campsites which are reasonably sheltered from wind with minimal shade. Ocean beach is 100 metres from camping area and is safe for swimming when the swell is small. Good fishing beach.

Chapman River Campground
Located on the southern and eastern side of the Chapman River, this campground consists of campsites located along the banks of the Chapman River.

Chowilla floodplain provides the perfect opportunity to camp in seclusion, relax and disconnect from the outside world. You will need to be self-sufficient (food and water) as there are no facilities in this Park.

Cullyamurra Waterhole is Australia’s largest billabong and offers shaded camp sites, abundant birdlife and is a popular fishing spot. Located 16 km north-east of Innamincka, the campground has 15 camp sites spaced along the 7 km waterhole.

Dalhousie Springs are part of a chain of mound springs extending along the outer rim of the Great Artesian Basin. The artesian water rises up from a considerable depth through cracks and fissures in the subterranean strata. At the point of exit, the water, which originally entered the complex system in the Finke River area in the Northern Territory, is millions of years old. The water in the Dalhousie Main Spring is around 37 degrees, making it perfect for a relaxing soak.

Enjoy the park’s serenity at night in one of the self-sufficient bush camping areas. A true outback mallee experience only 90 minutes from Renmark. The five camp sites offer partial shade and some protection from wind. Little to no phone coverage so a satellite phone is ideal in emergencies.

Set into the curve of the Oraparinna Creek with a dramatic cliff-face on the opposite side of the river red gum-lined creek. The nearby Perawurtina Cultural Heritage site is popular for its Adnyamathanha rock carvings. This campground has shared firepits and limited shading.

The Engineers Lodge is located at Inneston within the heart of Innes National Park. It sleeps up to ten people in three bedrooms (two doubles and three sets of bunks), making it perfect for a larger group or two families.
The large verandah commands stunning views across Inneston Lake and the rest of the historic township and ruins. The lodge is self-contained and facilities include a shower and toilet, solar lighting and gas appliances. Bring your own linen and bedding.

Located 300 m from the ocean in central Canunda. Accessible by 2WD and small/medium sized caravans. The high wave energy sandy beach is unsafe for swimming. Limited fresh water, but not recommended for drinking. There is some wind protection but the coastal vegetation does not provide shade.

Natural, unsheltered, unpowered campground situated on the edge of the Coorong lagoon and suitable for 1 or 2 boats, tents or swags. There is a sheltered seating area with park information and a walking trail from the campground to the ocean beach. Amenities include a long drop toilet and rainwater tap (not suitable for drinking). Located in the northeastern corner of the park along Googs Track, lies Googs Lake, a popular tourist destination with clearly marked scenic camp sites. The campground offers some shade and is flat sandy terrain.

The hut is located on the Wortupa Loop Road, (4WD) 26 km from the Park Headquarters at Balcanoona. The access road is not recommended for 2WD vehicles due to rocky sections, steep slopes and creek crossings.
The hut consists of two bedrooms, a sleep out, lounge, kitchen, storeroom, laundry and bathroom.
Bedroom One sleeps up to two people — one queen bed.
Bedroom Two sleeps up to six people — three sets of bunks.
The lounge has a combustion fire and lounge chairs.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas fridge, gas stove/oven, sink and all crockery and cutlery. There is also a table with seating for eight people.
Solar lighting and gas hot water available. No power points.
Gas BBQ and wood BBQ.

Located approximately an hour’s drive west of Balcanoona via Wortupa Loop Track. Access is 10 km up Arkaroola Road then 17 km via the signposted 4WD track. Camp sites are located along the creek below Grindells Hut. Please camp in designated sites. The Weetootla and Italowie Gorge hikes can be accessed from this camping area.

Harvey’s Return Campground is a historic landmark that once served as a supply landing site for the Cape Borda Lightstation. Embark on the Harvey’s Return Hike to explore the cove where lightkeepers once hauled up stores using a horse-drawn winch and small rail cars. Geology enthusiasts will be captivated by the striking outcrops of tightly folded, thinly bedded schists. For a deeper dive into history, follow the old cart track of the lightkeepers along the Return Road Hike to the Cape Borda Lightstation, with a side detour to admire the stunning coastline at Scott Cove. Visit the nearby historic Lightkeeper’s Cemetery, or take a short drive to experience the Ravine Hike.

The Ippinitchie Campground is located in the former Wirrabara Forest off Forest Road approximately 6 km west of Wirrabara. The Ippinitchie Campground comprises 10 small dispersed sites along Ippinitchie Creek which runs seasonally depending on rain. The surrounding forest is a mixture of plantation remnants and native woodland providing pleasant shady campsites in a natural setting with easy access to the newly created Wapma Thura / Southern Flinders National Park. Access by 2WD or 4WD. Suitable for tents/camper trailers/caravans. Campfires to be contained to the fire pit only. Fire pits located within all campsites. BYO firewood (seasonal restrictions apply). No dogs are allowed within this campground.Italowie Gap Campground
The Italowie Gap camping areas are located approximately 20 minutes from Balcanoona on the Copley-Balcanoona road. There are two camping areas. The first area is on the south-western side of the gap via a small access track. This area is set amongst river red gums below a small cliff face and is a shady spot in summer. The second area is located on the north-eastern side of the gap, off the access track behind the information bay. These sites are set amongst wattles and river red gums near the start of the Italowie Gorge Hike.

Kaiser Strip is split by the Sturt Highway and the campsites are located on the River Murray and Chambers Creek. These 14 sites offer shade and access to the River and waterways of Loch Luna. Individual campsites offer the feeling of seclusion whilst not being too far from civilization.
Dogs ARE permitted within this section of the park only and must be kept on a lead at all times.

Camp sites are located near the start of the Karte walking trail and provide an opportunity to enjoy the park’s vast expanse of wilderness and admire stunning views across the district. You may even encounter one of the park’s residents such as the western grey kangaroos, echidnas or fat-tailed dunnarts. The campground provides partial shade and protection from wind at some sites.

Individual secluded camp sites in this section are situated along the majestic Murray River, Eckerts Creek and Katarapko Creek. Most campsites offer shade and the ability to launch canoes. Learn about Wetlands on the Ngak Indau Wetland Trail, European history on the Craggs Hut Walk, or Aboriginal history on the Kai Kai Nature Trail. New to the Park are the Katarapko and Rodeo Trails. More information is available on the website.
Dogs ARENOT permitted in the Katarapko Campground camping areas. Dogs are only permitted on a leash in the Old Rodeo grounds area between Berri and the first bridge/creek crossing. Please refer to the Park map.

Located 5 km south-west of Innamincka, this campground is where John King, the sole survivor of the Burke and Wills expedition was found alive in 1861. Access is via the Fifteen Mile Track. The campground has 3 camp sites.

Electricity: unpowered.Kingston on Murray Campground
Kingston-on-Murray provides secluded campsites with good access to the river with no facilities. It is bush camping with only a fire ring provided. It is close to the township of Kingston-on-Murray which has public toilets and boat ramps, unfortunately the shop has closed down, so the closest town is Barmera for food and supplies. The park provides a great opportunity to launch canoes and explore the waterways of Chambers Creek, part of Loch Luna Game Reserve.
The large trees provide habitat for native wildlife, and it is a great place to relax and unwind.
Dogs are permitted on a leash within Kingston-on-Murray and fires are permitted in the fire rings outside of the fire danger season. You must bring your own firewood and take your rubbish home with you.
The campsites are suitable for tents, swags, caravans and camper trailers with a large turn-around area at the end of the park. There are four allocated campsites.Kolay Campground Gawler Ranges National Park
Pitch a tent amid rocky gorges and valleys at the foot of a granite hill, or on a grassy plain. Relax under the stars at night and wake to the sound of birdsong, and the fragrant scent of the Australian bush. Offering views of Mt Fairfield, this campground is only accessible to 4WD vehicles and has unallocated camping for ten vehicles.

Situated on Aroona Creek at the base of the ABC Range this campground offers stunning views of the landscape that inspired artist Sir Hans Heysen. Camp out under the stars at this campground, which has unallocated camping comprising of 3 camp sites with flat surfaces but minimal shade. There is no phone coverage we recommend you download the directions to the campsite beforehand.
Access: 2WD and 4WD access via 14km dirt road from Eyre Highway. The road may be rough and care needs to be taken.

Cliff tops and rock pools are 1km away via 2WD track or walking.

Pronounced Koor-ee Ngah-wun-thee and located on the Wild South Coast Way on the Heysen Trail in Ballaparudda Creek Recreation Park, this is a hiker-only campground. This location is the site of the former Balquhidder Campsite. Set in between rolling hills and next to Ballaparudda Creek, the campground is a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy the scenery. You’re likely to hear a symphony of frogs when the creek is flowing, as the healthy environment here supports several species. Facilities include a camp shelter with tables, bench and basin and nearby toilet. Campfires prohibited at all times. Camping capacity is maximum 20 guests with 10 allocated campsites (maximum 2 people per site). Campsites are either platform or compacted earth. Unpowered. This is a hiker-only campsite with no vehicle parking or vehicle access.

Discover the habitat of bush birds and other animals — you may even see honey-eaters which are attracted to the flowering plants, or western grey kangaroos that often seek shade from the heat of the day. Explore the floodplain and wetlands of Loch Luna Game Reserve as it boasts numerous narrow creeks and shallow swamps that provide important habitats for many aquatic birds and mammals. Campsites are popular recreation sites dotted along Chambers and Nockburra creeks, perfect for canoeing and boating, or perhaps try a spot of fishing . Sites offer plenty of room to move, with shade and water access to launch canoes.

Situated on the floodplain on the northern side of the river and near the ferry at Lyrup. A wonderful opportunity for bird-watching, fishing and camping. Secluded campsites, most with ample shade, are situated along the Murray River.

The Mainwater Well camping area is approximately two hours’ drive north-west of Balcanoona via Wortupa Loop Track. A small camping area is located next to the old well alongside the tea-tree lined Mainwater Creek. This camping area provides a great base from which to explore the northern areas of the park and for hikers to explore Mainwater Creek. The camp sites provide partial shade and wind protection.

Toilet facilities are located at the Cooper Creek day visitor area and campground.

Campsites are situated along the Murray River with the ability to launch canoes from most sites. A boat ramp is situated at the end of the Park for larger vessels. Quietly paddle bird-watching paradise with numerous species of bird life inhabiting the park. Look out for the regent parrots, pelicans and white-faced herons. Many camp sites offer partial shade and access to the river for canoe launch.

Pronounced Nut-un-yoo-roo Ngah-wun-thee and located on the Wild South Coast Way on the Heysen Trail in Newland Head Conservation Park, this is a hiker-only campground. Surrounded by coastal white mallee, this campground provides a secluded area to relax after traversing the coastal cliffs or long sandy beaches. The mallee canopy provides a perfect environment for the small orchids that thrive here and the echidnas that wander through searching for their next meal. Facilities include a camp shelter with tables, bench and basin and nearby toilet. Campfires are prohibited at all times. Access to the campground via the ocean beach is not recommended as driving conditions along the beach can be extremely dangerous due to severe erosion and dune collapses caused by seasonal high tides and sea surges.
It is not recommended that you tow any form of trailer, camper or caravan along the ocean beach. Clearance can be an issue and there may be limited opportunity to turn around.

This campground sits high on the cliffs of the Brachina Creek, near to where it flows onto the plains, on its way to Lake Torrens. Located close to Point Sir Isaac, The Pool campground is the most remote and difficult to access campground in Coffin Bay National Park. The campground is set among mallee behind the fore dunes. Tolderol Game Reserve will be closed from the 6 January 2025 until July 2025 for public safety while major construction works are underway to improve wetland habitat as part of the Healthy Coorong Healthy Basin project.
Tolderol Campground is located on the banks of Lake Alexandrina. Tolderol Game Reserve consists of a series of constructed open and shallow basins with connecting channels and levee banks.

It is an unallocated campground and vehicles have to be parked at car parking bays. There are a number of walking trails starting from this campground.

Weetootla Campground is located to the west of Balcanoona at the end of Weetootla Gorge. Camp sites are located along Balcanoona Creek among mallee, native pines and bullock bush. The camping area is approximately 20 minutes from Balcanoona, 2 km towards Arkaroola then 5 km along the signposted track. The campground is located approximately 4 km from the information bay. Designated camp sites are set out adjacent to the pit toilets. These can also be found 1 km further on, near the Weetootla Gorge trailhead.
Access: 2WD and 4WD.

Suitable for: tents and small camper trailers. Access to campsites may be tight with limited space for maneuvering camper trailers.

Located along the Northern of South Australia’s Heysen Trail, this campground is nestled between native pine and the Eastern side wall of the Pound. St Mary’s Peak offers a spectacular background. Ideally situated for walkers using the Heysen Trail and for cyclists on the Mawson Trail or Flinders Ranges by Bike loop trail. Also as a remote camp for school groups.

Situated on the eastern side of the park amongst the pink gums, grass trees and hop bush, this campground has nineteen campsites, including some camp sites that are suitable for small camper vans (RVs) and camper trailers. Camping here is convenient for city-dwellers, families and first-time campers. It’s located just south-east of Gawler and is one of the closest places to Adelaide that you can camp in a national park.

Pronounced Wool-dee Krik-ren Ngah-wun-thee and located on the Heysen Trail in Deep Creek National Park, this is a hiker-only campground. Nestled amongst shady gum trees and iconic yaccas, this campground gives a real sense of being in the wilderness. Fern-lined gullies, cascading waterfalls and a spectacular coastline of cliffs and secluded coves are all a short journey from here. Facilities include a camp shelter with tables, bench and basin and nearby toilet. Campfires prohibited at all times. Camping capacity is maximum 20 guests with 10 allocated campsites (maximum 2 people per site). Campsites are raised timber platforms or compacted earth. Unpowered. This is a hiker-only campsite with no vehicle parking or access.

Located 2km along the 4WD Coffin track, the camping area is also popular for picnicking. Big Yangie Bay is a shallow, protected inlet great for kayaks and paddle boards. Set below a canopy of stringybark trees, the campground is a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy the scenery. An elevated platform provides fantastic ocean views over the treetops. Facilities include a camp shelter with tables, bench and basin and nearby toilet. Campfires are prohibited at all times. Camping capacity is maximum 20 guests with 10 allocated campsite (maximum 2 people per site). Campsites are either platform or earth. Unpowered. This is a hiker-only campsite with no vehicle parking or vehicle access.
