Beach Camping
Coorong National Park
Notice of beach closure: the Coorong ocean beach between Tea Tree Crossing and the mouth of the River Murray is closed each year from 6am on October 24 until midnight on December 24 to protect the nesting season of our vulnerable beach birds such as the Hooded plover.
Subject to beach, tide and weather conditions, visitors are still permitted to drive along the beach south of Tea Tree Crossing.
Please note; Coorong National Park ocean beach conditions are regularly changing at this time of year due to severe erosion and dune collapses associated with high tides and sea surges.
Driving on the Coorong National Park ocean beach can be a high risk activity under these conditions which could affect your personal safety and could result in damage to your vehicle.
Driving behind and within the dunes on non-designated tracks is prohibited at all times.
