Dhilba Guuranda - Innes National Park

Microal­gal blooms at Dhil­ba Guu­ran­da-Innes Nation­al Park, South Aus­tralia, may cause dis­coloured water, foam and poten­tial health risks.

The blooms have devel­oped because of warm sea tem­per­a­tures and calm water con­di­tions. Nation­al Parks and Wildlife Ser­vice has receive reports of the algal bloom affect­ing marine life, includ­ing fish, sharks and rays.

Beach­es are open.

Beach vis­i­tors are advised to:
* Avoid swim­ming and surf­ing in dis­coloured water and foam, or where marine life is dead or in poor health.
* Wash in clean water if you come into con­tact with dis­coloured water.

Fish­ers are advised that:
* Fish caught live are safe to con­sume.
* Dead fish and pip­is (cock­les) must not be tak­en for human con­sump­tion because of decomposition.
