Meet the rangers: Camp­fire chat and snacks at Katarapko

Come and join local Nation­al Parks Rangers for a meet and greet and some camp­fire food. Ask your burn­ing ques­tions about what we do, the impor­tance of our local parks, and any Ranger tips or tricks to hav­ing an awe­some Nation­al Park adventure.

Kids will also receive a camp­ing activ­i­ty bag for your next camp­ing hol­i­day in Mur­ray Riv­er Nation­al Park.

When: Sat­ur­day 4th May 

Time: 3pm-5pm.

Where: Katara­p­ko Camp­site 19 and Lyrup Flats Col­li­gans Camp­ground Camp­site 7

Dis­cov­er the Riv­er Mur­ray Nation­al Park self-dri­ve trail audio tour

Be your own tour guide! Just down­load the app and get ready to here some fas­ci­nat­ing sto­ries, inside scoops and great local knowl­edge from Kevin Smith from the Friends of River­land Parks. 

This tour works offline (which is great if you don’t have net­work cov­er­age) so make sure you down­load the tour before you go.

Ranger guid­ed walk of Paringa Pad­dock Trails

Come and join local Nation­al Parks Rangers for a leisure­ly walk around the park. The area is teem­ing with birdlife and if you raise your eyes to the skies, you might be lucky enough to spot a koala!

Ask the Rangers ques­tions about what they do, the impor­tance of our local parks, and any tips or tricks to hav­ing an awe­some adven­ture in South Australia’s nation­al parks.

Mur­ray Riv­er Nation­al Park: Pho­tog­ra­phy tips, tricks and scav­enger hunt

Join pho­tog­ra­ph­er Ben Woods along with Nation­al Parks Rangers for a fun morn­ing in one of the most pop­u­lar and scenic spots of the Mur­ray Riv­er Nation­al Park. Learn some pho­tog­ra­phy tips and tricks from Ben before going on a pho­tog­ra­phy scav­enger hunt to see how many images you can cap­ture from Ben’s scav­enger hunt list.

When: Fri­day 10th May 

Time: 10.00am – 12.30pm.

Where: Mur­ray Riv­er Nation­al Park — Booky Cliffs Camp­ground (Katara­p­ko Camp­site 9)

Hel­lo Pos­sums: Katara­p­ko pos­sum sur­vey with the Friends of River­land Parks

Come along and join the Friends of River­land Parks and a local wet­lands ecol­o­gist for a night walk to con­duct a pos­sum sur­vey with your torch / spot­light and learn about the ecosys­tem of the Ngak Indau wet­lands in Mur­ray Riv­er Nation­al Park.

When: Sat­ur­day 11th May 

Time: 6.30pm.

Where: Meet at Berri Senior Cit­i­zens Club Inc.
