Part closure of Murray River National Park - Katarapko

Envi­ron­men­tal water­ing at Mur­ray Riv­er Nation­al Park — Katara­p­ko is sched­uled to occur again this year, with water recent­ly being allo­cat­ed to under­take this oppor­tu­ni­ty which assists to main­tain the health of long lived veg­e­ta­tion such as red gum, black box and lignum. 

Unfor­tu­nate­ly this means the clo­sure of some roads due to flood­ing, details are as follows:

Clo­sures:

  • Sec­tion of the Lock 4 Road between camp­site 13 and the Ngak Indau Wet­land closed to the gen­er­al public
  • All camp­sites are still accessible

Entry/​Access:

  • The park is still acces­si­ble via Drap­er Road (Lock 4 entrance) and the Katara­p­ko entrance on Katara­p­ko Cres­cent via Winkie road
  • Access to camp­sites 1 — 13 is via Drap­er Road (Lock 4 Entrance) and access to Lock 4 and camp­sites 14 — 55 is via the Katarapko
