When and where is the event?
The event begins at 10am on Friday 5 July, 2024.
It’s being held at Flinders Chase National Park Visitor Centre, South Coast Rd, Flinders Chase National Park, Kangaroo Island.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive by 9.45am to settle in before the event starts at 10am.
What should I wear?
The event will be held both indoors and outdoors. Smart casual attire is recommended, and please wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking. Winter weather on Kangaroo Island can be unpredictable so please bring an umbrella or jacket in case of inclement weather.
Will food and beverages be available?
Light refreshments will be provided during the event. The new café at the visitor centre will also be open for additional purchases.
How long will the event last?
The official program will conclude by 11.45am. Attendees are welcome to stay and explore the visitor centre and the park at their leisure.
Getting there and accommodation
How do I get to Kangaroo Island?
You can reach Kangaroo Island by ferry from Cape Jervis or by flight from Adelaide Airport. Both options provide regular services. Please note no commercial flight will get you to KI in time for the event on the day, you will need to travel over the afternoon before. Ferry bookings are limited and to get to the event in time you will need to have an early start or travel over the afternoon before. If you have difficulty, please check with our Kingscote staff on 8553 4444 in case there is availability with the car reservations that we have pre-booked.
How long does it take to drive to Flinders Chase National Park?
It takes about 1.25 hours to drive from Kingscote Airport to the Flinders Chase National Park Visitor Centre and about 1.75 hours from the ferry terminal at Penneshaw.
Is accommodation available nearby?
There are several accommodation options on Kangaroo Island, ranging from hotels and motels to bed and breakfasts and holiday rentals. Book your accommodation in advance as availability is limited.
Is parking available at the event?
Yes, parking is available at the visitor centre. Please follow the signage for parking upon arrival.

Is the visitor centre accessible?
Yes, the visitor centre has been designed to be accessible, with ramps, accessible toilets, and designated parking spaces.
