Witjira National Park and Munga-Thirri - Simpson Desert National Park Open to 4WD with Restrictions

Flood­wa­ters in Eyre Creek are over 2m deep at the bypass and have closed all east­ern exits from Munga-Thirri — Simp­son Desert Nation­al Park. Trav­ellers in Munga-Thirri — Simp­son Desert Nation­al Park must ensure they car­ry suf­fi­cient Fuel, Food and Water to safe­ly return to Mt Dare. No res­cues or recov­ery’s can be under­tak­en from Birdsville dur­ing this time.
