Full closure of Moorook Game Reserve

Flood waters are now reced­ing. How­ev­er, most of our wet­lands and flood­plains will remain flood­ed or inac­ces­si­ble for some time. There­fore, all camp­sites and access roads/​tracks remain closed.

Moorook Camp­ground — CLOSED
Strict­ly no vehi­cle access, no camp­ing allowed. Vis­i­tors may still access these areas by walk­ing, bike rid­ing, canoe or small boat if safe to do so. Please remain on estab­lished roads and tracks.

Ranger staff are cur­rent­ly assess­ing the dam­age and risk caused by the flood in all of our parks. The pri­or­i­ty is to fix up roads and camp­sites and have some of them open soon for day vis­it­ing only. Camp­site clean-up will take months and they will only reopen when safe to do so. Dang­gali Con­ser­va­tion Park remains open with camp­sites avail­able for book­ing.

Poogi­nook and Cooltong Con­ser­va­tion Parks are also great places to spend the day.
