Tapanappa Ridge Lookout and Day Visitor Facility Upgrade - September 2021 to February 2022

As part of the 2019-20 State Budget, the State Government announced funding over four years for the creation of the Wild South Coast Way on the Heysen Trail. This exciting project will upgrade infrastructure along the iconic Heysen Trail from Cape Jervis to Victor Harbor to create a five day, four night hike and other high quality trail-based experiences.

A part of this project is the construction of a new day visitor precinct at Tapanappa Ridge. The new works will include

  • car parking
  • picnic and shelter facilities
  • toilets
  • Class 1 loop trail
  • signage and interpretation.

Consequently access to Tapanappa Ridge and Lookout will be restricted with no access given during construction of facilities to maintain public safety from 20 September 2021 through to 28 February 2022. A temporary carpark will be in place for parking and access to the Deep Creek Cove and Waterfall Hikes will occur from this location. Signage will be in place to direct park visitors to these hikes.
