Book online for camping holidays in South Australia’s national parks

Love camping? Be in the know before you go by planning ahead and booking online to stay in SA’s national parks.

Long weekends are some of the busiest times of year for camping in South Australia’s national parks, with popular campgrounds filling up quickly.

With the March long weekend around the corner, now is a great time to go on a South Australian adventure.

The great news is you can avoid the last minute stress of finding a camping spot by booking your campsite and park entry fees online for 42 of SA’s most popular national parks and reserves.

You’ll need to pay for entry and other permits before you arrive at these parks, as you can no longer pay at the gate.

Bookings for campsites can be made up to 12 months in advance, letting you plan your break early.

If you’re not familiar with the parks online booking system, check out the how to book online video below.

If you make a last-minute decision to have a weekend away, no problem. You can book on the road using your smartphone. Some shops and visitor centres near parks also act as booking agents and take cash payments if that’s more convenient for you.

If you’re looking for a campsite closer to home, Pink Gum Campground in Onkaparinga River National Park has become a favourite for those wanting a quick getaway.

Or if you’d prefer to camp north of the city, Para Wirra Conservation Park has a variety of spots for you and the family to choose from.
