Even in this time of change, you can still enjoy South Australia’s national parks and nature from the comfort of your own home.
We have put together some handy resources and virtual tours to keep you and family entertained during this period.
Also, remember you can still take a short walk in a park in your neighbourhood. Just practice social distancing and good hygiene and follow the rules about public gatherings that are intended to keep us all safe and well. Please do not visit if you are required to self-isolate. Virtual park visits
Google Street View Trekker
Want to explore a trail or look at a campground before you leave home?
We’ve worked with Google to film more than 600km of walking trails, park roads, campgrounds and waterways in some of our most beautiful places. Click to see what the parks offer and the available facilities before you go. This is an especially great tool if you have accessibility needs, are visiting with people of varying ages or fitness levels or are pushing a pram and want to view a trail before leaving home.
Learning in nature virtual tour
These virtual tours have been created as a resource for teachers to assist with outdoor learning. It can be used before and after visiting parks, and can even be used by students in the classroom.
The tours complement a 'learning in nature' professional development (PD) sessions for teachers and it contains a number of activity stops based around environmental and sustainability learning concepts tied to the curriculum. This virtual tour also contains additional information about plants, animals, learning ideas and links to additional educational resources.
Georama Virtual tours
