Heritage

GorgeThere are a great variety of places of heritage significance within South Australia's parks system, ranging from residences to lighthouses, whaling sites, graves, a fort and a kiosk.

This record of locations is derived from the list of State Heritage Places entered in the South Australian Heritage Register, in accordance with the criteria in the Heritage Places Act 1993. Being entered in the Register puts into effect procedures to manage change, so that their heritage significance is maintained.

For further information on the identification, conservation, interpretation and promotion of our built and maritime heritage and the role of the South Australian Heritage Council and the Heritage Branch, visit the Heritage website.
